Dicember Day 20: Rainbow Spatter!
Dec. 23rd, 2022 12:28 amDicember Day 20
Rainbow Splash Dice
(Obtained 2021 02, from Ice Cream Dice)

It's another entry from my beloved Ice Cream Dice, purveyors of delicious math rocks (note: for legal reasons, do not eat the dice)! These are not an IceCreamDice original, but they are fairly unique among my collection for their exquisite texture. That paint-splatter effect appears to be a physical one, done over a set of plain white dice, and it means that you can feel the drops of paint as you handle the dice. Oh, they're certainly well sealed --I've never had paint fleck or chip off-- but it's definitely more bumpy than traditional dice. I find this a very appealing thing (I like sensory stuff!)
Also the rainbow colours chosen are just perfect. As a Big Ol Roleplaying Queer (or "Gaymer" as I believe the kids these days say), I have acquired a handful of pride sets here and there. These are not officially any kind of pride set, but they live in the pridebag with more blatantly flagged dice, because I love the idea of a chaos-based rainbow flag, getting the idea across in an explosion of colours in every direction, instead of carefully stacked stripes.
("wait, the pridebag?" well yes. It has a rainbow of icosohedrons embroidered on it, and holds a good half-dozen sets or so. I don't collect dicebags with the same fervor I do their contents, but I've obtained several official ones by now, a few with themes. I've got a great jack-o-lantern bag that I hope to put all my Halloween dice into next time I organize, and a radioactive lime green that might just become the slightly snarky "you have _how many_ green dice?!" bag.)
