Stop bitching. Start a revolution.

So. Torture is now legal, or damnably close. Same diff, at this point.

We, uh, do know that torture doesn't reveal truth, right? If you do Bad Things to someone, yes, of course they're going to admit to being a terrorist (or whatevr it is you're looking for), just to get you to stop!

You know...I get the sudden sense that I might want to start looking at colleges overseas as well when I start the college search. I...try to ignore politics most of the time. I'm not at all political, exempting the whole gay rights thing, which I tend to be somewhat...intense...about. But this...scares me.

Why won't someone just give him a blowjob and get him impeached already...

~~~
Janny, I'd just like to send a THANK YOU for making me the nice warm cloak out at Balticon. It was...less then completely useful there, but as the weather is turning and it's period enough that I can wear it to faire. So yayforthat. Though I still need to actually sew it up, instead of leaving it ductaped...>.> <.<
Did I mention last post that I got to remeet the terribly charming catboy who I befriended at Balticon? I think I did. Did I mention that I'm working five out of the six days left? Yes? Crud. I have no news.
*looks over to the other room*
Alright, now I have news. Namely, I'ma gonna be a moron, come that last weekend of Faire. This is gonna rock.
And yes. There isn't really much life left to talk about. I do have two quotes for you.
Katie: "Well, if you do an eagle project, just don't use any mulch. Like, 98% of the eagle projects I've dealt with have had to do with fucking mulch."
Me: "Katie, I know that you meant that in the adjective sense, but my brain just turned it into a verb, and oh that hurts my mind..."
and
"You have the holy grail in your pants?!"
Aly, to Nik.
See yas!
OMG!!! You win major points for this post. //Why won't someone just give him a blowjob and get him impeached already...// is absolutely hilarious.
I wouldn't recommend looking overseas for colleges based on the political situation over here. Yes, its bad, but we have a system in place to correct all these flaws. On top of that, I'd venture to say that you'd have a better chance of getting into a good college in the U.S. than in a European country.
Very little of what we do to criminals (and suspected criminals now, I guess) makes any sense. Think about it. What is the point of jail? What does it actually achieve? Torture isn't a new kind of stupid; it's a very old one, and we're so set in our ways we can't get past it.
Fucking Eagle projects... grar...
Have you thought about UCSC (http://www.ucsc.edu/public/)? It's super cool, liberal and very accepting of wierd people. Oh yeah, and the campus is fucking beautiful: redwood forest w/ ocean view.
I'm sure she'd rather go to USC.
*cough*
Torture is legal...
Habeus Corpus is suspended...
And I doubt even Laura will blow the guy.
:p
Anyways, don't go to college overseas--everybody talks funny there. And the current political brouhaha will end, one way or another--either the Dems will gain power this November or three Novembers from now. The Reps can't keep this up, I tells ya.
Besides, don't you want to come to the beautiful University of Southern California? It is highly awesome, I tells ya.
The president isn't getting any, but on the other hand we have a congressman talking about cast fetishes and erections with a sixteen year old.
[going overseas for uni] --
Sure, going overseas for uni if you have a reason to (like you get a scholarship or something) is good, but going overseas because of one bill is silly.
...but if you do decide to go overseas, we have a shortage of teachers, friendly staff, low requirements to get in, a healthy attitude towards international students, and lots an lots of plants. Oh, and civil unions aren't limited to heterosexuals. And we're pretty damn liberal.
[identity profile] jannyblue.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Umm... any other areas you guys have a shortage in?
[identity profile] mcgig.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Um...we have a shortage in military misadventures in other people's backyards. Politicians with any common sense, though that's a global pandemic.
Oh...and ladies.
[identity profile] thorog.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Apparentl we have a lack of trade jobs, highly-skilled scientists, engineers, teachers....I don't know, I'm getting this from someone else at roleplaying. But we have a 3.6% unemployment rate, soooo...
I ask you to examine the incongruity of the title of your post alongside your declaration of being apolitical (except for something that affects you personally) and your desire for some else to do something to get things moving, and a desire to bail out of the country entirely without doing any fighting to make it better. Hmmmm.... I like the title sentiment myself. Let's back it up woman.
you know, the english language has become really laxed when it comes to conjegating curse words. For example, take the infinitive to shine:
verb (present tense) - shining (I'm shining my shoes)
adjective - shiny (My shoes are quite shiny)
noun - shine (My, don't my shoes have a nice shine to them?)
... I could go on, but that's enough to make my point...
Now, for the infinitive to fuck:
verb (present tense) - fucking (Why are those kids fucking in the hallway?)
adjective - fucking (I dunno, because this is fucking LR.)
noun (this one follows the rules) - fucker (Why can't those fuckers just get a room?)
see... wouldn't life just be simpler if they taught us how to conjugate curse words in english? Then maybe we could get our point across...
