sorcyress: Just a picture of my eye (Me-Eye)
A/N: This entry was written a little bit after the accident, before we got a rental and got home and started to deal with insurance bullshit. There's a lot of insurance bullshit. I am very lucky in that it is mostly not mine.

I'm gonna start this entry by saying no one was hurt.

Nurit, Genni, and I were driving back from Waffle House at three or four in the morning when we got t-boned pretty severely by another car. I took a side airbag to the face, they each took similarly mild wounds, we all were able to walk and talk and move all our fingers and toes and that's all you can hope for in this sort of thing.

The biggest hassle had been sorting out how to get back to Boston with our ride undriveable. Seven people is not a good number, especially when it's Easter Sunday and everything is closed. But we've worked something out, and it even looks like I'm gonna be the only one to miss an additional day of work (I had the earliest deadline, by approximately seventeen hours).

It was scary as shit. I was mid text, when I heard screeching tires and slammed my eyes shut. I remember thinking that you're supposed to relax your body, and thinking too "how?!" When I opened my eyes again, I was first confused by the white fabric hanging next to my head (does the car have curtains now?) and the awful smell.

Thanks to that airbag, I have bruising so mild that most people can't even see it. That's it.

I don't remember the first thing I said, but the second or third was to make sure Genni was talking (since Nurit and I had said things but not her). Once we were all alive, the priority was to move fingers and toes and make sure we were all working.

We were uncommonly lucky.

After we were all standing around waiting for the police to finish up, I saw a brass-coloured ring lying on the ground beside our crumpled door. Being as this is the second car accident I've been in in six months, I decided I needed a totem. It's been hanging around my neck ever since I cleaned it off.

A/N: And...that's all I wrote in the aftermath. There's more, but it's all the boring parts, or the bits that make this entry a Good Damn Story. I could use all the backrubs (I don't think I'm going to Scottish tonight and even more of the hugs, but any wreck you walk away from is a good one.
