Pinewoods prelim report
Jul. 20th, 2013 12:42 pmHome from Pinewoods! I took some notes this year in my gazette (the week's dance programs and rules and bios of the teachers and stuff) so maybe I'll write an actual report at some point.
The quick version is that it was a pretty good time, and I am feeling quite happy at the moment, despite the haziness from the overwhelming (record setting, we're told) heat and humidity. Also despite the fact that I can no longer jump into a pond whenever I want to (clothing optional) and that is depressing as hell, because I'd happily spend a couple hours floating with a noodle right now ayep.
My pants are, of course, exceedingly bankrupt, as I was in the woods for approximately 216 hours straight. I was with the first to arrive (not counting the crossovers from the English/Scottish Session before us) and with the last to leave. Lovely stuff, that's nine straight days of very peaceful everything, but gosh, I wonder what the real world's been up to.
(Yes, I've heard about Marty, and it is heartbreaking. I hope to post more about that later as well).
Anywho, I am (surprisingly) awake enough to get some things done, so I am going to try to do them. Hopefully I will be up for social party tonight, and see some friends, regardless, I believe the tradition involves sleeping for fourteen hours straight, so I'm fully anticipating that happening sometime before Monday.
I've missed you all. Do fill me in if there's anything important I missed.
