This is further Balticon con-reporting. Also, if you haven't bothered to click on the cut from my last entry, it's probably worth it. Slutty but Sweet and all that.

Tweets in Italics.
'Hey Kat, wanna be an A1?' Folks, the answer to this is 'no'. An A1 is the sucker who runs the sound board. Apparently, I've been promoted
So, this was the third thing I was really proud of tech-wise at Balticon. I wound up running the sound board for the Masquerade! I only messed up a little bit, at the very very beginning (where I didn't get Marty's mic up on time) and I had a fabulous tapeslave, and it went very very well. Much proudness abounds.
The promoted comment is because at the last three or four masques I've worked, I've played tapeslave. Sound board operator is the logical next step, yes.
I have a new necklace! it is religious and everything!

The FSM charm is new. The ankh is old. I figured I should have all my religion on one chain --I just need a sacred chao, and possibly something to represent Mother Earth --The ankh belongs to Athe, I suppose.
I have a mini-essay on religion to post at some point, too. That's two "to posts" in two entries. Intriguing.
The masquerade is making me want to watch Titus. Also, I have the Tetris theme song stuck in my head
I can't transcribe the sounds I need to into text, and I can't remember what the hell they're quoting. It's some old west thing being all ominous and "waah, wah, wah!" Dave says it a bunch in some episode.
...I really really like Titus. I need to watch the all of it sometime.
Also, the Tetris thing is the fault of JF, who has an elljay, but I haven't added it yet. His Masque skit was absolutely wonderful. And had the tetris theme in it.
...I may have later lynched him in werewolf for that alone.
Punchy techs are *hilarious* techs. Hooray for special lav!
It's an in-joke, don't worry about it.
And Masquerade is go!
Yeah, the Masque this year was pretty good. Big --31 entries, counting the young fans, but ran smoothly, and had a lot of really adorable skits. The finale was absolutely glorious, and stolen from CostumeCon --it had a steampunk mini-masquerade. Very fun!
I have voices in my head. And they are absolutely wonderful!
The thing I love more than anything else about tech is having voices in my head. All the techs on clear com, just snarking whatever else is going on...it rules. It absolutely rules.
This is a really good masque. And yay for Dr. Horrible!
Yeah, there was a pretty cute Dr. Horrible group.
And OH MAN, was the Captain Hammer spot on. When they won ribbons for presentation, he wasted no time in taking all three of the ribbons --why would Penny or Dr. Horrible deserve any?
And it's over! That finale was *ducking awesome*
Also, I keep using 'ducking' since I'm too lazy to program the more traditional word into my phone.
Phones are fun sometimes.
This skips straight over to Sunday night --there was werewolf on Saturday night, after the masque, but I didn't tweet about it any, apparently. That's okay, I can't remember anything particularly noteworthy. Oh, I know what's noteworthy --Saturday night was the night where we lost Sonya and Aaron at ridiculously early hours, and so while there was some amount of werewolves and Junglespeed, it wasn't nearly as good. Also, it's when we started playing timed rounds, iirc.
This is another essay I should write --Are You a Werewolf, and some thoughts, variants, and strategies.
Sunday I woke up at three thirty, which was three and a half hours later than I intended. My final dream was a slow-release nightmare --It was a merely really weird and disquieting dream as I woke up out of it, but after a couple minutes, I found myself breaking down with the fear of it all. It took being held by Magus, and then going out and forcing myself to interact with people (oh, masks, I love thee) before I calmed down any.
At about five on Sunday, Magus and I entered the con suite. I don't think either of us excited until six the following morning. We would have stayed later, but sleep needed to happen. (It's a shame, I missed the birth of cuddles or GTFO)
Won as the seer. Exhilerated, I'm now playing mod. Man, do I ever love this game.
This was from Sunday night werewolves. Man, was that a good game. Magus didn't die until the last night, which meant he was able to spread misinformation for me, the wolves didn't eat me, our hunter got a wolf, and I got to end the last day by standing up the minute the village could talk, and shouting "I'm the seer, he's a wolf!" Just *lovely!*
Of course, I was incredibly shaky justpost, so there was no way I could play another game and be any good at it, *especially* if I got another special role. Soyes. I modded, because I enjoy it and am really quite good at it.
Oh man! One of the wolves wanted to eat the seer, but the other one convinced her not to. Awesome
That was plenty awesome to watch. And might have saved the village. Man, do I *ever* love this game.
ARG! The two confirmed villagers were pointing at the wolf. The unconfirmed villagers don't realize that the wolf would've jumped in!
I take this back --the real wolf jumping in would've been a terrible misstep. It was mad fascinating to watch though. The village won this game, but it took something like forty minutes for the penultimate round.
Man, no one has asked about the banana in my pocket. I need @marcmagus
Luckily, after about fifteen minutes of having the banana in my pocket, Braffy went ahead and asked. I told him I was incredibly happy to see him.
Or, to quote mek "Is that a banana in your pocket or a erection in your pocket?"
Bytheway, this is into Monday, after Magus left. Very sad, that. Sadness somewhat abated by the fact that I had the entire Towsen contingent plus Aaron around, and I also got to do some driving --learning how to drive a 24 foot truck, and a stick-shift!
But yeah, obligatory sappy "I miss my boyfriend" thing that I thought I stopped doing after I broke up with kSatyr.
I lead an unfairly good life. :D
Lots and lots and lots and lots of cuddlepiles. Making friends with fabulous people. Arranging things so that I didn't have to leave until much later. All lead to a really happy Kat.
Oh, also really unfairly good because Jim gave me a knife! It is fabulous, and I've already managed to cut myself with it. Oops. I'm happy I have it, though.
I mean this in the best way possible: what the *hell* just happened?
Oh, and that. That helped lead to me having an unfairly good life. Ob!cryptic "Life is Life" which I may have to partially steal as a philosophy.
Leaving Balticon. Never vanished this late. Go me!
About seven thirty or eight. Stewart, who helps run The Family Game Store gave me a ride. Stewart is some seriously awesome people, yeah.
And this last tweet has nothing to do with Balticon at all:
23 days. Twenty three days, two hours five minutes. Oh my god. This is suddenly actually Real.
It is. It is absolutely positively real. And it is also 21 days 23 hours and 51 minutes.
