Bells and other pursuits

sorcyressToday was mostly a ringing day, and also a really really busy day. Tomorrow should be slightly less busy, and then it looks like Monday is my singular vacation Official Day Of Rest. Huzzah *collapse*.
By mostly a ringing day, I mean I made it to practice very nearly on time (collecting an Elishka and a Rachel on the T along the way) and then we had a slightly abbreviated practice with lots of good practice for our learners and also some practice for the rest of us for ~quarter peal afternoon~ of which I was participating in all three. Oh no, or huzzah, or whathaveyou.
Two of the three quarters went --I trebled to Superlative Major, which was delightfully relaxing because I could count the leads (my favourite!). The one that didn't went was the plain bob doubles --a somewhat weak band and a newer conductor, and the two combined poorly, but we did get a lot of really good ringing practice in. Finally, some Stedman Triples, which was just *delightful*. I love me some Stedman at the best of times, and this was it --just miles and miles of strolling through the front work and then doing even more dodges than usual since the Bobs were coming in groups of four.
Of course, after about four total hours of ringing, my hands are extremely unhappy with me. I did attempt to stretch them out between each quarter, and my lower back. I think the latter worked better than the former (and that is a nice advantage of a handful of qps over one peal, you get breaks in the middle.)
Went home from bells eventually (there was very important ice cream to consume), then played a wee bit of decompress video games, and then off tojducoeur's house for board games and pizza. I got to play two of the former: a round of abducktion (which continues to be fine as a board game and delightful as a toy) and a trick taking game called Mori that had some quite nice mechanics. It was first time playing for all four of us, and I'm very satisfied with my very close second place.
(Also I _really_ need to ensure Justin gets to play Cat in the Box at ESCape, it is my current favourite trick taking game.)
Tomorrow has more ringing, followed by maybe a fun social chat with a friend, followed by BIDA. I should really really do some Scottish Pinewoods stuff in between those things --packing, rides coordination, working on my MCing and classes.
Did I mention school is out for the year? I don't think I did. I have one hundred thousand things I am trying to stack together and make work out, and very little time to do them. Despite the fact that I would very much _like_ to do nothing but play video games for a couple weeks, I cannot.
